“Finally, I can work on robots without feeling like I am one”
Sophie’s job as a Hatch Door Opener may sound simple, but she’s a pro at it. Whether it’s opening doors for robots making dramatic exits or saving the day by getting stuck machinery moving, she’s always there to lend a hand—and maybe a crowbar. “It's like being a bouncer for robots,” Sophie laughs. “Except, they never ask for my ID.” She loves working at Adeeb Robotics because it gives her a chance to improve her reflexes and fine-tune the perfect dramatic pause before opening any hatch.
“Some days it’s all about finesse. Other days, it’s more like trying to convince a stubborn robot to do squats."
Robert didn’t think pulling robotic knees would be a full-time job—until he joined Adeeb Robotics. Now, as the official Head Robotic Knee Puller, he spends his days adjusting knee joints with the kind of precision only a pro can manage. “Knee-pulling is a lost art,” he says, straight-faced. “But someone’s got to keep these robots walking straight. It’s either me or they start trying to moonwalk.” Robert enjoys the challenge, and the endless supply of WD-40 keeps things interesting.

As a Robot Clothing Designer, Kathie’s mission is to make sure the robots at Adeeb Robotics are not only functional but fabulous. “You haven’t lived until you’ve made a custom turtleneck for a robot with no neck,” she jokes. From fitting form-fitting metallic jackets to designing fashionable wires, Kathie ensures every robot looks their best while performing tasks. “I mean, if they’re going to take over the world one day, they might as well look good doing it.” Kathie loves the creative freedom, even if the models are a bit... stiff.
